Webmaster Radio Ad:Tech Interview

November 11th, 2009 · 3 Comments

During Ad:Tech I was interviewed by Webmaster Radio’s Leading Host, Jim Hedger.  In the 10 minute interview we discussed a variety of topics.  Ranging from the state of social media in the New York area to using risk assessment to start social media slowly, and the fears of management concerning starting social media.

Please listen to the interview and let me know what you think. http://www2.webmasterradio.fm/ad-tech-conference/2009/social-media-risk-analysis/

My analysis is this:  I had too many “um’s” in the interview.  But generally handled the questions fairly well, even answering “I don’t know.” when asked why Ad:Tech attendance was so high this year.

Interview Tip: It’s always a tough point for a person being interviewed for broadcast, when a question comes from left field that you are totally unprepared for, how will you respond?  It’s always to good to respond with “I don’t know”, especially when it’s true.

So PR and media types, I’m interested in your feedback on my interview skills.  Tell me where I missed, and where I can improve.  A compliment or two are welcome as well.

So give me 1 good reason why I should or shouldn’t do a podcast.

Great podcast and informative about how to start social media for companies! Concise and Haha… your talking sounds twitterish, an unconscious shortening way of talking? Slow a bit will be nice.

Less “you knows” in your comments (remember the Caroline Kennedy experience)

    Overall, good performance.

Thanks Jia, I’ll keep an eye on the shortening of my sentences.

Sam, as a PR Pro I value your opinion. Thanks a lot for compliment!
